Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I correctly measure for the custom window seat cushions, especially for tight spaces?
A: Always measure the exact dimensions of your base or furniture frame. If your custom window seat cushions will be placed between walls or hard surfaces (such as a window seat or RV nook), we recommend deducting 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the total width and depth. This ensures a comfortable fit and leaves enough room for the fabric and any slight manufacturing variations. For more detailed instructions, please refer to our Measuring Guide.
Q: How thick should the custom window seat cushions be, and will it bottom out over time?
A: For optimal comfort, the custom window seat cushions is typically 2 to 5 inches thick. To prevent “bottoming out”, we use premium 45-density high-resilience foam that provides superior support and shape retention, even with daily use. The ideal thickness depends on your base height: standard seating should reach a total height of 18-20 inches from the floor.
Q: How do I choose the right fabric, and can the custom window seat cushions be washed?
A: For high-wear or outdoor environments, we recommend performance fabrics like Sunbrella that are incredibly durable and fade-resistant. For indoor comfort, velvet or linen blends are excellent choices. Most of our custom window seat cushionss feature a hidden zipper. Removable covers can be gently machine or hand-washed. Always air dry to maintain the fabric’s integrity.
Q: What is the difference between edge styles, and does piping change the final size?
A: A Boxed Edge gives a structured, modern look with straight side panels, perfect for thicker cushions. A Knife Edge creates a softer, more tapered finish. Adding piping (welting) highlights the cushion’s shape and provides tailored elegance. Please note that edge styles and piping are purely decorative and do not change the overall final dimensions you provide.
Q: How do you ship extra-long or oversized custom window seat cushionss?
A: To ensure your custom window seat cushions arrives safely and shipping remains cost-effective, oversized items may be carefully vacuum-sealed or gently folded. Upon unpacking, please allow 48-72 hours for the high-density foam to fully expand and for any minor shipping creases in the fabric to naturally relax.
Q: I found similar products at lower prices elsewhere. Why are Rofielty prices different?
A: What you see here reflects the true value of authentic Rofielty custom cushions. I love it!! It fits perfect on my window nook & my dogs are a fan!
I ordered this because the color was supposed to be dark brown and the description said that it¡¯s non-slip. Unfortunately, it¡¯s definitely not dark brown and as far as non-slip, there are two ribbon strings at both ends to tie it around something but, that¡¯s not an option using as a window seat. Our cat seems to like it so, we will find a way to make it non-slip. It¡¯s made nice but, disappointing for the two reasons stated. 🙁
Great fit, solid quality. The color (orange) was much more washed out than in the pictures. More like a dark peach.
I’m very pleased with these bench cushions. They were easy to put together. The foam comes rolled up and needs a few minutes to unfurl and expand. The cover goes on easily and zips up. The foam cushion is sturdy. They are a perfect fit for my box windows. My dog really likes them too.
I wish I could give this product more stars. Custom window pillow arrived today and it is outstanding. I was concerned since the cushion would be 107″x8″ but it fits perfectly and looks amazing. Color is excellent and the quality is exceptional. I picked the color hoping it would blend with the room and was pleasantly surprised when it was an almost exact match for my carpet. Big plus, my dog loves it. Much nicer then the blanket I had there before to protect my window sill. Highly recommend. Photo is just out of the box.
